Dr. Jonathan C. Daniel

Dr. Jonathan Daniel is a thoracic surgeon specializing in benign and cancerous diseases, including mesothelioma. Dr. Daniel earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed a thoracic surgery residency under renowned mesothelioma specialist Dr. David Sugarbaker at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Daniel completed his residency training in general surgery at the Michael DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, and he completed a molecular research fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. In 2010, while working for the University of Arizona College of Medicine, he successfully performed the first extrapleural pneumonectomy in the state of Arizona.

Dr. Daniel’s clinical interests include multidisciplinary approaches to thoracic malignancies and nanotechnology applications for the treatment of lung cancer. He is a member of the lung transplantation program, the American Association for Cancer Research, American College of Surgeons and American College of Chest Physicians. Additionally, Dr. Daniel is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
